Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 3, 2026
Every piece is made or finished by hand in the studio. These terms explain how ordering, shipping, and returns work so that buying a Studio Sharbat piece is simple and clear.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of sofiasharbat.com and any purchase of original paintings, fine art prints, or commissions from Studio Sharbat (“Sofia Sharbat Fine Arts,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
The Artwork
- Originals are one-of-a-kind, hand-painted works. Once a piece sells, it is no longer available. Each original is signed and shipped with a certificate of authenticity.
- Prints are museum-quality giclée reproductions made to order on archival canvas or fine art paper. Optional hand-embellished prints are individually finished by the artist and are considered original works.
- Color & detail. We photograph and color-proof each piece carefully, but screens vary. Slight differences between what you see on your device and the physical artwork are normal and are not considered defects.
Pricing & Payment
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars (USD) and are subject to change without notice. Applicable sales tax is calculated at checkout. Payment is due in full at the time of purchase and is processed securely through our third-party payment provider. Your order is confirmed only once payment has been received.
Orders
Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to accept, decline, or cancel any order — for example, in the event of a pricing error, suspected fraud, or an item becoming unavailable. If we cancel an order that has been paid, we will issue a full refund.
Shipping & Delivery
Each piece is prepared, inspected, and packaged by hand. Original paintings ship within 5–7 business days; fine art prints are made to order (up to 3 weeks), and hand-embellished prints up to a month. These are processing times and do not include carrier transit; delivery timeframes are estimates and are not guaranteed.
Within the continental U.S., shipping is calculated at checkout by artwork size and type, fully insured and tracked — original paintings include complimentary insured U.S. shipping. International orders are shipped by custom quote: you submit your shipping details, we send the insured cost and a secure payment link before the order is finalized, and the recipient is responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or fees charged by the destination country. Title and risk of loss pass to you upon delivery to the carrier; all shipments are insured. See our Shipping, Returns & Cancellations policy for full details.
Returns, Cancellations & Refunds
Because each original painting is one of a kind and each print is made to order, all sales are final — original paintings, paper and canvas prints, framed prints, and hand-embellished prints cannot be returned or exchanged. We're glad to provide additional photographs, details, or dimensions before you buy, so please contact us with any questions first.
If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photographs of the artwork and the interior and exterior packaging, and keep all original packaging while the matter is resolved. Sofia will work with you personally on a repair or replacement where possible.
Cancellations: original artwork may be canceled only before it has been prepared for shipment, and made-to-order prints only before production has begun. Once production, framing, or hand embellishment has started, an order cannot be canceled or refunded. Full details are on our Shipping, Returns & Cancellations page.
Commissions
Commissioned works are created specifically for you. A non-refundable deposit (typically 50%) is required to begin, with the balance due upon completion before shipping. We share progress along the way and welcome your input, but the final artistic interpretation rests with the artist. Because commissions are custom, they are non-returnable and non-refundable once work has begun, except where the finished piece arrives damaged.
Intellectual Property & Copyright
All artwork, images, and content on the Site are the property of Sofia Sharbat and are protected by copyright. Purchasing a work — original or print — grants you ownership of the physical piece only. It does not transfer copyright or any reproduction rights. The artwork may not be copied, reproduced, printed, resold as reproductions, or used for commercial purposes without the artist's prior written permission. Personal enjoyment and display are, of course, entirely welcome.
Use of the Website
You agree to use the Site lawfully and not to interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or copy its content for commercial use. All trademarks and branding on the Site belong to Studio Sharbat.
Limitation of Liability
The Site and its content are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Studio Sharbat is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or your purchase. Our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase will not exceed the amount you paid for that item.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent version, and changes take effect when posted to this page. Your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the current Terms.
